Trey Lance, a quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers in the National Football League (NFL), was born on May 9, 2000. At North Dakota State University, where he played collegiate football, he won the Walter Payton and Jerry Rice Awards as a freshman on his way to the 2020 NCAA Division I Football Championship Game victory.

Lance, who was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft, spent the most of his first season as a backup. In 2022, he was selected as the starter, but an injury ended his campaign early.
