What can you not mix with Robitussin?

Robitussin is a common over-the-counter cough syrup that contains dextromethorphan, an expectorant and cough suppressant. Finally, you should not mix Robitussin with certain foods or drinks that can affect the absorption or metabolism of the medicine. For instance, you should not take Robitussin with grapefruit juice, as it can increase the amount of dextromethorphan in your blood and cause more side effects.

You should also avoid taking Robitussin with acidic foods or drinks, such as coffee, tea, or citrus fruits, as they can decrease the effectiveness of the medicine. You should take Robitussin with a full glass of water and follow the directions on the package or your doctor’s prescription.
