Evanescence is an American rock band founded in 1994 by singer and keyboardist Amy Lee and guitarist Ben Moody in Little Rock, Arkansas. After releasing independent EPs as a duo in the late ’90s and a demo CD, Evanescence released their debut studio album, Fallen, on Wind-up Records in 2003.

In 2021, the band’s lineup dissolved, with Martijn turning it into his solo project. However, the fans will still remember Delain for vocalist Charlotte Wessels who contributed her awesome musicianship, helping create the band’s unique style.
Overall, their style can be described as symphonic metal. But there are a lot of other elements in there. A lot of their stuff is pretty catchy and we can certainly draw parallels between Delain and Evanescence.
