In 2012, actor Ed O’Neill and other “Modern Family” stars had filed a suit against 20th Century Fox Television to “void their contract.”

Ed had alleged that his deal “violated California’s prohibition on personal services contracts that last longer than seven years”, and therefore, should be declared “illegal”.

Other stars who had joined Ed in the suit include Julie Bowen, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet and Sofia Vergara.

Who Is Ed O’Neill?

Ed O’Neill is an actor famous for playing Al Bundy in one of the longest-running sitcoms in American TV history, “Married… with Children”, from 1987 to 1997.

Born on April 12, 1946, in Youngstown, Ohio, United States, Ed’s career spans several decades, with notable roles in both television and film.

After a huge success from appearing in “Married… with Children,” Ed went on to star in other films such as the sitcom “Modern Family,” “Dutch,” “Wayne’s World,” “Little Giants,” “Finding Dory,” “The West Wing,” “The Practice,” and “Dragnet.”

Other films Ed has appeared include “The Dogs of War”, and “The Bone Collector”.

For his contributions to the entertainment industry, Ed has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Outside of film, Ed is a trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu martial artist and holds a black belt.
