Singer, songwriter, and former artistic gymnast Carly Rae Patterson is American. She is a member of the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame and was the all-around winner at the 2004 Summer Olympics, the first time the United States won the title in an Olympics that wasn’t boycotted.

In 1994, while at a cousin’s birthday celebration at the Elite Gymnastics gym in Baton Rouge, Patterson decided to take up gymnastics.
In the balancing beam competition final on August 23, 2004, Patterson placed second to Romania’s Cătălina Ponor with a score of 9.775 and took home the silver medal.
She appeared on the television program Hollywood at Home after the Olympics, in December 2011. For their 2012 organ donation challenge, Patterson partnered with the Taylor’s Gift Foundation as the spokesperson.
