What age did Jack Nicklaus retire?

Nicklaus won the U.S. Amateur in 1959 and 1961 and finished second in the 1960 U.S. Open, two shots behind Arnold Palmer. Nicklaus turned professional at age 21 toward the end of 1961.

Nicklaus won his three final majors past the age of 40, including two in 1980: the U.S. Open and PGA Championship (40 years old).

Finally, Nicklaus became the oldest golfer to win the (miracle) Masters in 1986. He was 46.
