Wendy Duan, 28, was discovered in the rear of a house in the 1100 block of Oxford Mills Lane in New Territory by police late on Saturday. She was later declared dead, according to Adolph. After hearing gunshots reported by nearby residents, police arrived at the location at about 9:50 p.m.

Prior to her murder, Wendy Duan was not wed. There is no online information about Wendy Duan’s previous relationships or engagements.

Officers arrived to find a 29-year-old lady shot numerous times dead in the backyard.

Later, Wendy Duan, a third-grade reading and language arts teacher at Boone Elementary School, was revealed to be the victim.

Another neighbor, Sandy Thomas, recalled, “We’d talk to each other, and she told me she’s a teacher, so not much conversation, but she seemed like a nice girl; we would see each other on and off sometimes.”

The relationship between the two is unknown, however, investigators believe the shooting to be related to domestic abuse and have named a male as a suspect.
