Dobos, who had previously run for mayor in that year’s election, was elected in November 2017. After running unopposed, he was re-elected in November.

The Hometown Hero Banner program, a gravel boat launch in Riverfront Park, and a 2018 borough campaign dubbed “Beautify Leechburg: Polish the Jewel” were all spearheaded by Dobos in Leechburg.

He helped Armstrong County secure more than $100,000 in grant cash to demolish many derelict and condemned structures.
