Terry Thomas died of Parkinson’s disease at a nursing home in Godalming, Surrey, England at the age of 78.

Was Terry Thomas related to Richard Briers?

One of Britain’s most beloved eccentric comedians, the irrepressible, gap-toothed Terry-Thomas was born Thomas Terry Hoar-Stevens in Lichfield Grove, Finchley.

He was the son of Ellen Elizabeth (Hoar) and Ernest Frederick Stevens, a fairly well-to-do London businessman.

Richard Briers’s mother, Morna Richardson, was a pianist. Richard’s cousin was the gap-toothed film star Terry-Thomas. While doing his national service with the RAF, Briers attended evening classes in drama.
