Angle’s first WWE Championship victory occurred on October 22, 2000, at the No Mercy pay-per-view event, where he defeated The Rock to capture the title.
Throughout his WWE tenure, Angle had a total of four reigns as WWE Champion. His subsequent title wins took place on February 25, 2001, at No Way Out, defeating The Rock again; on September 23, 2001, at Unforgiven, defeating Stone Cold Steve Austin; and on October 20, 2002, at No Mercy, where he triumphed in a Triple Threat match against Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker.

Angle is also the only person to have held both the WWE and TNA King of the Ring titles, as well as the first to hold both the WWE and TNA Triple Crowns.
