During his college career,  he had 70 tackles, 15 sacks, 18 tackles for a loss, and five forced fumbles, earning him the Big Sky Conference Defensive MVP award.

Biermann also became Montana’s first-ever recipient of The Sports Network’s Buck Buchanan Award in 2007, which is given to the finest defensive player in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision.

He was named a Walter Camp First-Team Small College All-American and an Associated Press and The Sports Network Second-Team Little All-American. He was also named to the Big Sky Conference’s first team.

Biermann was a top performer in the Vertical jump and the 3-cone drill at the 2008 NFL Combine.

Biermann made a lot of money as a football player. Biermann signed a four-year, $1.87 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons in 2008, a three-year, $9.15 million contract in 2012, and a one-year, $1.925 million contract in 2015.
