Who Is John Lithgow?

John Lithgow is an American actor, known for his theatrical works.

Born on October 19, 1945, Lithgow is a graduate of Harvard University and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.

He made his film debut in 1972,  and went on to star in several movies and TV shows.

In 1973 Lithgow appeared on Broadway in The Changing Room, and later on, in the plays 27 Wagons Full of Cotton, A Memory of Two Mondays,  Secret Service at The Public Theatre, Requiem for a Heavyweight (1985), M. Butterfly (1988), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (2005), The Columnist (2012), A Delicate Balance (2014), and Hillary and Clinton (2019).

Other movies in which Lithgow has stared include 3rd Rock From The Sun, The Old Man, Bombshell, Cliffhanger, Daddy’s Home 2, Footloose, Dexter, Harry And The Hendersons, and Love Is Strange.

Lithgow’s work in film has earned him a number of accolades, including two Golden Globe Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards, three Screen Actors Guild Awards, and two Tony Awards.

The four-time Grammy Awards nominee has earned a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has been inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.
