The head of the Pooh Properties Trust, Michael Brown, claimed Benedictus had a “wonderful feel” for the Pooh universe. Nevertheless, Publishers Weekly had a negative opinion of the book, calling it “largely forgettable” and lacking “the charm of the first book.”
