Ham said he was in the passenger seat with his brother when the bullet hit him, and the incident made him fearless.

Who Is Darvin Ham?

Darvin Ham is a former basketball player and the current head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA.

Born on July 23, 1973, in Michigan, Ham has a history playing as a small forward for the Denver Nuggets, the Indiana Pacers, the Washington Wizards, the CB Granada, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, Albuquerque Thunderbirds, and Austin Toros.

After a successful collegiate career with the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Ham was signed by the Denver Nuggets as a free agent on October 1, 1996.

His playing career saw him win several championships. His 8 seasons in the NBA shows a record of 417-games played, 2.7 points average, 2.3 rebounds and 1.8 fouls in 12.4 minutes.

Upon retirement, Ham has coached Albuquerque Thunderbirds, New Mexico Thunderbirds, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Ham began his coaching career in 2008 and in 2022, he became the head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers.
