Was Damar Hamlin tackled?

Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin tackled wide receiver Tee Higgins during the Buffalo Bills’ game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2, 2023. Damar Hamlin got to his feet after the tackle. However, he collapsed on the field.

Team trainers and paramedics rushed to his side as he remained motionless. Hamlin was then loaded onto a stretcher, and an ambulance arrived on the scene.

Hamlin was given oxygen, intubated, and an intravenous solution was given to him (IV). At approximately 9:25 p.m. EST, he was transported to the University of Cincinnati Academic Health Center and was reported to be in critical condition.

The Buffalo Bills selected Hamlin in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. He overcame the loss of several friends to gun violence and his father to prison to become a feel-good story for the Bills.

As a rookie, he appeared in 14 games and made two tackles. After Micah Hyde suffered a season-ending injury in September, Hamlin took over as the starting safety. In 2022, Hamlin has 92 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
