Warren Hoge was an American journalist who spent the majority of his long career at The New York Times (April 13, 1941 – August 23, 2023) and was born in the United States.

In 1964, he served in the American Army, and from 1965 to 1970, he was a member of the Army Reserve.
Between 1964 to 1966, Hoge worked as a correspondent for the now-defunct Washington Star.

He served as the New York Post’s bureau chief in Washington, D.C. from 1966 to 1969. From 1970 through 1976, he served as the Post’s city editor and metropolitan editor.

Hoge’s initial positions at The New York Times included metropolitan news reporter, regional editor, and deputy metropolitan news editor (1976–79). He held the position of international bureau chief in Rio de Janeiro (1979–83) and London (1996–2003).
