During Earl’s lifetime, one could easily perceive that his relationship with his son was cordial.

The father and son were always spotted in warm embrace after every tournament win.

Tiger Woods had always dedicated all his victories to his father.

“I wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for my dad,” he had said during the 2005 tournament. “I just hope this win gives him a little more hope, a little more fire to fight with.”

During an interview, Earl once spoke about Tiger and their cordial relationship.

“I never treated Tiger like a kid. I treated Tiger as an equal. We transcended the parent-child relationship and became best friends a long time ago”, he said
