Walter Martin Corey, an Amercan football player and coach who held assistant coaching positions with several teams, including the Buffalo Bills from 1987 to 1994 had an estimated net worth of $5 million at time of death.

After his time with the Bills, Corey spent three seasons as the defensive line coach for the New Orleans Saints and was the defensive coordinator for the XFL’s Memphis Maniax for their only season.
Corey was the youngest of 16 children and he was from a family who worked in Western Pennsylvania mill towns.

Corey went undrafted out of the University of Miami and signed as a free agent with the Dallas Texans in 1960. He was a member of the Texans’ 1962 AFL championship team and continued with the team through its move to Kansas City.

After retiring from football, Corey coached in college at Utah State and then at the University of Miami before joining the Chiefs staff in 1971.
Corey was Buffalo’s defensive coordinator for Buffalo’s four consecutive AFC Championship teams from 1990 to 1993.
He was also the defensive line coach in New Orleans during the Mike Ditka era, from 1997 to 1999. He was the defensive coordinator and Linebackers coach of the Memphis Maniax of the XFL.
Corey was born on May 9, 1938 and died October 24, 2022 at age 84.
