Did Horowitz travel with his piano?

Vladimir Horowitz reportedly had some special demands when booked for performances. According to sources, he demanded that his rider brought along his personal piano from his townhouse on East 94th Street in Manhattan to whichever location he was booked to perform at. His personal favorite piano was built by Steinway in 1941. It was specially built with the serial number 314503. It was the Steinway Model D piano, a nine-foot ebony concert grand.
