Vini began his professional career in Flamengo, where he made his senior debut in 2017, at age 16. In the opening group match against Serbia on November 24, he set up Richarlison’s second goal to help Brazil to a 2-0 victory. He scored his first FIFA World Cup goal in a 4-1 win against South Korea in the round of 16 on December  5.
