Vincent Cheng Wife: Was Vincent Cheng Married?

Hong Kong banker Vincent Cheng Hoi-chuen, the city’s first Chinese resident to become the executive director of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), a British multinational universal bank and financial services holding company has died at the age of 74. He died on August 28.

Was Vincent Cheng married? Mr. Cheng appeared to have kept his personal life under the wraps and as a result, it is not known if he married.

In May 2005, Mr. Cheng became Chairman of The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, taking over from David Eldon.

Mr. Cheng also became the managing director of HSBC Group and the Director of HSBC Bank Australia Limited.

On 1 April 2007, Mr. Cheng became Chairman of the HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited. He was appointed the first Chinese Executive Director of HSBC Holdings on 1 February 2008.

In January 2008, he was appointed a member of the National Committee of the 11th Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), and a senior advisor to the 11th Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPPCC.

His previous government advisory roles included Member of the Executive Council from 1995 to 1997 and a Hong Kong Affairs Adviser to the People’s Republic of China from 1994 to 1997.

He was also a Member of the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Government from 1991 to 1995.
