Vince Dooley Wife: Meet Barbara Meshad Dooley

Barbara Meshad Dooley was a radio personality and the wife of Vince Dooley, an American college football coach and athletic director (1979 to 2004) at the University of Georgia (UGA).
Barbara Anne Meshad was born on September 8, 1939, in Birmingham, Alabama. On March 19, 1960, she married Vince Dooley. Deanna, Daniel, Denise, and Derek are their four children.

Throughout her career, Mrs Dooley has been involved in a variety of civic and philanthropic endeavours, including the Winship Cancer Center,  the National Football Association Hall of Fame, the Center for Disease Control Foundation Board, the United Way, the Paralympics, and many others.

For her charitable work, Barbara Meshad Dooley has received numerous awards and honours. She has also hosted a popular morning radio talk show since 1994.

The Barbara and Vincent Dooley Fund at the Georgia Historical Society were established in 2016, ensuring that their commitment to Georgia history will continue in perpetuity.

Vince Dooley died peacefully at his Athens home in the presence of his wife, Barbara, and their four children on Friday, October 28, 2022.
