Video of President Bola Tinubu’s Fall at June 12 Ceremony in Abuja Emerges

Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu, stumbled while approaching the car for the open-roof parade during the country’s 25th Democracy Day anniversary celebration at Eagle Square in Abuja on Wednesday.

President Tinubu, along with his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, arrived at the venue, where Vice President Kashim Shettima and other senior government officials welcomed him. The mishap happened as the President was heading to the ceremonial vehicle, briefly interrupting the event.

The June 12 celebration, established by former President Muhammadu Buhari in June 2018, honors Nigeria’s Democracy Day in remembrance of MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election. This date has since replaced the previous Democracy Day, which was observed on May 29.

The President’s status after the fall has not been officially revealed, but the incident has undoubtedly triggered a surge of reactions and conversations among Nigerians.
