The recalled onions were sold in stores under the Little Bear brand from June 22 to June 24. The brand was also available at Wegmans locations in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania, as well as Publix locations in Florida.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced earlier this week that a listeria outbreak had been linked to Florida.
They stated that the majority of the sick people in this outbreak resided in or travelled to Florida about a month before becoming ill.

Listeria monocytogenes can be fatal to young children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
High fever, severe headaches, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhoea are all symptoms. Pregnant women may also experience miscarriages as a result of infection.
