Seven individuals have been detained by a District court in Awutu Breku, Central Region, for allegedly attacking a man named Ike Faith. They accused him of using spiritual methods to shrink another man’s genitals.

Ike Faith, the victim, initially sought treatment at Senya Polyclinic. However, due to the severity of his injuries from the assault, he was referred to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for more extensive care.
Before the court, the seven accused individuals did not enter pleas. They are identified as Prosper Bonney, a 22-year-old tricycle rider, along with Blessings Bonney, Emmanuel Baffoe, Kwame Arhinsan, Richard Quanssah, Gideon Amissah, and Emmanuel Otoo.
Prosper Bonney faces charges related to spreading false information and deceiving public officials. Additionally, Prosper and the other six suspects are accused of causing harm unlawfully, assault, and conspiring to harm another person.
The prosecution team, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Thomas Sarfo and Chief Inspector Bernice Wie Kpuusuu, opposed bail, citing ongoing investigations.
Victor Yankson, representing Prosper and Blessings, requested bail for the accused.

Presiding over the case, Judge Naomi A. A. Kuntuor adjourned proceedings to April 26, 2024 for the accused individuals to enter their pleas.
According to the prosecution, the complainant, a National Service Personnel serving as a teacher at Senya Beraku “C” Basic School, reported the incident on April 9, 2024.
She stated that on April 9, around 10:00 pm, a group of about 20 enraged individuals knocked on her door and proceeded to assault Ike Faith, accusing him of using spiritual means to shrink Prosper Bonney’s genitals.
Earlier that day, around 8:00 pm, Ike Faith had ridden in Prosper Bonney’s tricycle, discussing business. Later, Prosper Bonney claimed his genitals began to shrink after dropping Ike off at his house.
Subsequently, Ike Faith was taken to Senya Polyclinic and later transferred to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital in Winneba for further treatment. Following police investigations, the remaining accused individuals were apprehended.
