Vernon Winfrey Cause Of Death: What happened to Oprah Winfrey’s father?

Former Council member and father of Oprah Winfrey, Vernon Winfrey has passed away at the age of 88.

He is well known for his barbershop, Winfrey Barber and Beauty Shop, and achievement during his 16 years Metro Nashville Council, many in the community mourned the loss of Vernon.

While it has been reported that he was battling cancer before his death, it is unclear the type of cancer he was diagnosed with. Additionally, his exact cause of death has not been confirmed yet.

Vernon’s passing comes only days after Oprah celebrated him on Independence Day or, as she dubbed it, Vernon Winfrey Appreciation Day.
