As a flanker for United Rugby Championship side Scarlets and the Tonga national team, Vaea Fifita (born on June 17, 1992) is a Tongan professional rugby union player.

In the 2013 ITM Cup, Fifita made his debut for Wellington in a 35-27 victory against North Harbour, his only outing in provincial rugby. The Lions were in excellent form in 2013, topping the log and making it to the Premiership final before losing to Canterbury 29-13.

However, 2014 would be a different story as they finished 7th and last in the Premiership standings, which resulted in their relegation down to the Championship for 2015. In 9 games, Fifita scored 2 tries while playing plenty of minutes for a Wellington team that was always changing.

In 2018, Fifita and Hangale Havea, his longtime companion, got married. Luke Jacobson was chosen over Fifita, who was not considered for selection due to injury, in New Zealand’s 31-man squad to travel to the 2019 Rugby World Cup on August 28, 2019, by All Blacks Head Coach Steve Hansen.
