Vaea Fifita, a New Zealand-born Tongan rugby union player, was born on June 17, 1992. He presently competes as a lock or loose forward for the Hurricanes in the Super Rugby league and for Wellington in the Mitre 10 Cup.

At the international level, Fifita has participated in 12 tests for New Zealand. He was given his first test debut against Samoa in 2017. Leva Fifita, his older brother, also plays rugby union for Tonga on the international stage.

Following high school, Fitita visited Murray Mexted, the former All Black number eight, at his international rugby academy in Palmerston North. This paved the path for him to travel farther south and join the Wellington Axemen, a club rugby team, in 2012.
