“On behalf of UC Davis, we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family.” “We share their grief,” Chancellor Gary S. May said in a press release. “In this time of sadness, I’d want to thank our first responders for their courageous efforts on the site, as well as the UC Davis Medical Center team for doing everything they could to help.”
This was the second incident this week that a garbage truck struck and killed a bicyclist in the Sacramento area. In the aftermath of an untimely loss, UC Davis has urged impacted families and student peers to seek community assistance and resources on campus.
