Trudy Haynes Cause Of Death

Trudy Haynes a pioneer in broadcast journalism whose groundbreaking work as Philadelphia’s first Black television reporter revolutionised the news industry, passed away on June 7, 2022. Details of her death have not been disclosed.

Ms Haynes began her more than three-decade TV news career in 1963 as the nation’s first Black weather reporter in Detroit, where she sought out a more challenging news reporting job, raising her hand for interview assignments.

“They didn’t send women out into these dangerous situations.” Ms Haynes told CBS3’s Janelle Burrell in 2021, “I volunteered for some of them, and I got some of them.”

Before her retirement, Haynes established a fund to assist students in pursuing degrees in journalism or communications by providing financial assistance.

Haynes, who worked for KYW-TV for 33 years and won an Emmy and two Lifetime Achievement Awards, was hosting an internet show named “Trudy Haynes Show” at the time of her death.
