Truck Crushes Okada Rider to Death, Collides with Sprinter Injuring Three

In a tragic incident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway near Star Oil in Suhum, Eastern Region, an Okada rider lost his life while three passengers aboard a Sprinter bus sustained injuries following a collision involving a long vehicle truck.

The accident, which occurred on Monday, June 10, around 2:30 pm, shook the community. The truck, registered as GT6359-24 and en route from Accra to Kumasi, experienced a tire burst, leading to the driver’s loss of control over the vehicle.

In the aftermath of the tire blowout, the truck veered off course, resulting in a fatal collision. The Okada rider, unfortunately, fell victim to the accident, succumbing to his injuries on the spot.

Additionally, the truck collided with a Sprinter bus bearing registration number GC 7652-20, causing injuries to three passengers on board.

The lifeless body of the Okada rider was promptly transported to the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary for further procedures. Meanwhile, the injured individuals received immediate medical attention at the same medical facility.

Authorities have initiated investigations into the incident to ascertain the precise cause of the collision, as road safety remains a crucial concern for both commuters and authorities alike.
