Troy Polamalu Children: Meet Ephraim Polamalu, Paisios Polamalu

Troy Polamalu is an American former football strong safety who played his entire 12-year career for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League (NFL).

Troy and his wife, Theodora, have two children. Paisios Polamalu, their first child, was born on October 31st, 2008.

On September 16, 2010, Theodora gave birth to their second child, Ephraim Polamalu. The names of Troy’s children are inspired by the incomparable Saint Paisios, the Great of Egypt, and Saint Ephraim, the Syrian.

Polamalu and Holmes were previously devout Christians. However, in 2007, they converted to Orthodox Christianity.

Polamalu was named to eight Pro Bowls, received First Team All-Pro honors four times, Second Team All-Pro honors twice, and was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week seven times during his illustrious career.

He was named to the NFL All-Decade Team of the 2000s and the Pittsburgh Steelers All-Time Team.

He started 142 of 158 career games, had 32 interceptions for 398 yards and three touchdowns, 107 passes defensed, 14 forced fumbles, seven fumbles recovered for 120 yards and two touchdowns, 12 sacks, and 783 tackles, 583 of which were solo.
