Treat Williams obituary – Treat Williams, whose nearly 50-year career included leading parts in the TV series “Everwood” and the film “Hair,” died in a motorcycle accident in Vermont on Monday, June 12, 2023. He was 71.

Williams was born in Stamford, Connecticut on December 1, 1951, to Marian (née Andrew), an antiques dealer, and Richard Norman Williams, a corporate executive.
He graduated from Connecticut’s Kent School and Pennsylvania’s Franklin and Marshall College.
Williams made his cinematic debut in 1975 with the thriller Deadly Hero.
The next year, he appeared as a minor character in The Ritz, as a squeaky-voiced private detective searching for his suspect in a gay bathhouse.

However, it was in 1979, when he starred as George Berger in the Miloš Forman film Hair, which was based on the 1967 Broadway musical that he rose to global prominence.
Williams’ performance was so good that he was nominated for a Golden Globe.
He was also featured in Playgirl magazine’s February 1980 issue.
He later appeared in over 75 films and several television series.
His film credits include 1941 (1979), Once Upon A Time In America (1984), Dead Heat (1988), Things to Do in Denver When You’re Dead (1995), and Deep Rising (1998).
He is survived by his wife Pam Van Sant (m. 1988) and two children: Gill Williams, and Elinor Williams.
