Travis Rudolph, a former Florida State and New York Giants football player was found not guilty on all counts on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in a murder case stemming from a shooting death at his Florida home in 2021.

A jury in West Palm Beach returned not-guilty verdicts on one count of first-degree murder and three counts of attempted first-degree murder. At the end of a two-week trial, they reached the decision after four hours of deliberation.
According to the Palm Beach Post, the jury had the option of convicting him on lesser charges, such as second-degree murder and manslaughter, but chose not to.

According to WPTV, Rudolph has been under house arrest since March 2022, when Circuit Judge Jeffrey Gillen rejected a “stand your ground” defence. Following the jury’s decision, the court ordered that his house arrest monitoring device be removed.
The charges stem from a shooting on April 7, 2021 at Rudolph’s Lake Park, Florida home. According to Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office documents, Rudolph shot two men during an altercation.
After fleeing the scene, Sebastien Jean-Jacques was discovered dead in the passenger seat of a car. According to the Post, Tyler Robinson was discovered alive in the back seat with a gunshot wound. Two other men were not hurt.
