Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was charged with shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet outside of a party in Hollywood Hills in July 2020.

The felony assault case is ongoing, and he was briefly jailed earlier this month (April 2022) after a judge said that he had violated a protective order.
According to an Instagram Live, Thee Stallion claimed that she was in Lanez’s car on July 12 2020, with him, his bodyguard, and her friend, and that the four were arguing.
Thee Stallion, who was in the front seat, left the car. She alleged that Lanez shot her through the car’s back window and insisted that rumors she had hit Lanez were bogus.
Thee Stallion also said that the shooting didn’t relate to Lanez’s purported romantic interest in Kylie Jenner. According to TMZ, Megan originally told cops that she had cut her foot on glass.
Megan Thee Stallion sat down with CBS’ Gayle King for her first TV interview about the incident.
In the interview, which aired Monday, April 25, 2022 on “CBS Mornings,” Megan Thee Stallion was moved to tears as she shared a recollection of what transpired on the fateful day.
Megan Thee Stallion said;
The incident began as an “argument because I was ready to go and everybody else wasn’t ready to go.”

“But that’s like normal friend stuff. We fuss about silly stuff all the time.”
“But I never put my hands on anybody, I never raised my voice too loud. Like, this was one of them times where it was like – it shouldn’t have got this crazy.”
Megan Thee Stallion in the interview, continued that she got out of the car but “everything (happened) so fast”: and she suddenly heard a man screaming “dance,” followed by an expletive directed toward her.
Thee Stallion said
“And then he started shooting. And I’m just like, ‘Oh, my God.’
“He shot a couple of times. I was so scared. … I didn’t even want to move. I didn’t want to move too quick.”
“I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, if I take a wrong step, I don’t know if he can shoot something that’s super-important. I don’t know if he could shoot me and kill me.”
