The couple got married in 1992. Prior to their wedding, the couple adopted a daughter, and in 1994, they adopted a second daughter.
The couple has collaborated on several occasions. They worked together in one episode of Wings, and on BrainDead.

Brooke Adams also starred on Broadway in The Cherry Orchard, Lend Me a Tenor, Wendy Wasserstein’s The Heidi Chronicles (1990).
