He wrestled professionally under the ring name Tommy Seigler and held a number of championships, including the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight Championship, the NWA Macon Tag Team Championship, and the NWA Florida Television Championship.

While working as a construction worker in Pensacola, Florida, in 1963, Seigler started working out there. Some local wrestlers saw him there and persuaded him to give wrestling a shot. While continuing to work in construction, Seigler started his training and only wrestled sometimes. After six years of part-time wrestling, he made the decision to pursue it professionally. Seigler defeated Ox Baker in July 1973 to take home the All-South Wrestling Georgia Television Championship.
