Tom Samek Cause Of Death, Paintings

Tom Samek was a Czech Republic artist who spent most of his life painting and designing in Australia. Tom Samek was born in Prague, Czech Republic but spent some time in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Australia.

During Tom’s time in Austria, he studied printmaking with Eric Smodic and headed to Tasmania in Australia. Tom Samek painted a mural in the foyer of the University of Tasmania School of Engineering in 1997. Tom also painted on the floor mural in a winery in Meadowbank Estate.

Tom Samek created a mosaic mural at the College of Engineering of the University of Tasmania. The mural was unveiled during the 50th anniversary of the school.

Tom Samek died in October 2021 at age 71, after battling a chronic illness for years. The exact disease is called Motor Neurone Disease.
