Thomas Earl Emmer Jr., best known as Tom Emmer, is an American attorney and politician who has been the U.S. representative for Minnesota’s 6th congressional district since 2015.

Tom was born on March 3, 1961 in South Bend, Indiana to his parents Thomas Earl Emmer Sr. and his wife of six decades Patsy Emmer.

Tom Sr. was born in Minneapolis on March 20, 1939, to Earl and Helen Emmer.
He graduated from St. Thomas Academy and the University of Notre Dame.

He met his wife Patsy while attending grade school at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Edina, Minnesota.
As a businessman, he had an amazing career with Emmer Brothers Lumber Company and Viking Forest Products.
He was a staunch catholic and an astute family man, an avid golfer, a bookworm, a regular at Hoagie’s for breakfast, a hunter and a fisherman.
Sadly, he died on Saturday, August 8, 2020, surrounded by his best friend and wife of 60 years Patsy, his children and all of his grandchildren. He was 81 years.
