Todd Haimes (Theatrical Producer) Obituary

Todd Haimes, the artistic director and CEO of Roundabout Theatre Company has been reported dead. He was one of the most reputable industry players in the film industry. He was credited for spearheading the success of the company for years.

He was reported dead by his close and longtime friend, Matt Polk who shared that the theatrical producer died in New York from complications of osteosarcoma at the age of 66. It was also revealed that he had been battling cancer for years.

Born May 7, 1956, Bernard Todd Haimes began his career at a very young age. In 1983, he joined the Roundabout as a managing director. During that time, the company was in financial ruins, recording debts of $2.4 million while struggling to operate only a rented space located in Chelsea.

Haimes was able to stabilize the finances of the company and amassed additional funds to set a tremendous fortune. He became the producing director in 1989 at the age of 32.

Since 2000 when Haimes opened the American Airlines Theatre, there have been many successful shows like The Man Who Came to Dinner (starring Nathan Lane), Big River (2004), The Pajama Game (2006), On the 20th Century (2015), Long Day’s Journey Into Night (2016), and A Soldier’s Play (2020).
