William Todd Akin was an American politician, businessman and US representative for Missouri’s 2nd congressional district serving from 2001 to 2013. He was a member of the Republican party.

Todd grew up in the Greatest St. Louis area. After receiving his bachelor’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts, Akin served in the US Army Corps of Engineers and worked in the computer and steel industries.
Todd’s congressional career ended after he lost a bid to unseat Democratic US Senator, Claire McCaskill in the 2012 elections.

Todd Akin Cause Of Death
Todd Akin had cancer for several years, his son Perry said in a statement. He died late Sunday at his home in Wildwood, at St. Louis suburb.
He was described as, “a devout Christian, a great father and a friend of many”. The family says they are thankful for his legacy: a man with a servant’s heart who stood for truth.
