Page had sustained injuries on four occasions during the war and one of those times led to months off work so as to recover.

Author Michael Herr had described Page as the most extravagant of the “wigged-out crazies” in Vietnam who “liked to augment his field gear with freak paraphernalia, scarves and beads.”

Page wrote a number of books. One of them, “Requiem” is a collection of photographs taken by all of the photographers and journalists who died during the Vietnamese wars.

Requiem has since become a traveling photographic exhibition presented in Vietnam’s War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City, in many parts of America, Japan and London.

Page has been featured in several documentaries and two films.  He lived in Baltimore before he died and was an Adjunct Professor of Photojournalism at Griffith University.
