Ras Kuuku has been submitting his best songs for nomination each year but has not been recognized in the Male Vocalist category, despite believing he has the best vocal delivery and should win the award annually.
Ras Kuuku has shared that both Ghanaians and his fans have questioned why he is repeatedly overlooked for this category. He has expressed frustration at not being nominated even after submitting entries for consideration, including collaborations.

Speaking on TV3’s New Day on May 24, Ras Kuuku emphasized the widespread belief that he deserves to be nominated and win in the Male Vocalist category.
On the other hand, artist manager and entertainment pundit Sammy Flex suggested that the selection criteria, particularly the cut-off point for nominations, may be the reason behind Ras Kuuku’s exclusion.
While acknowledging Ras Kuuku’s vocal talent, Sammy Flex explained that the cut-off point in the Male Vocalist category could be a factor in his repeated non-nomination, as there are limitations on the number of nominees selected, and Ras Kuuku might fall outside the designated slots based on perceived vocal rankings.
