Terrence Howard grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and had a difficult childhood. Terrence was beaten by his physically abusive father and witnessed his father stabbing another man in the Santa Line Slaying when he was two years old.

His father was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 11 months in prison. Following his father’s release, Howard’s parents divorced. His great-grandmother raised him. On May 11, 1993, she died at the age of 77.

Howard began his acting career in the 1990s with appearances in films like “Mr Holland’s Opus” and “Dead Presidents.” He gained wider recognition for his performances in movies such as “Hustle & Flow,” for which he received an Academy Award nomination, and “Crash,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

One of Howard’s notable roles was portraying the character of James Rhodes, also known as War Machine, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Iron Man” released in 2008. However, he did not continue in the role for future films in the franchise.
