Ten Individuals Sustain Severe Injuries in Accident at Potsin Junction

Ten individuals sustained severe injuries in an accident at Potsin Junction on the Kasoa – Winneba Highway in the Central Region.

The incident occurred on Saturday, May 4, 2024, in the evening when a tipper truck collided with a Toyota Hiace passenger minibus at Mustapha Plus.

Eyewitness Matthew Mensah recounted that the collision transpired when the truck, failing to stop after a wrongful overtake, lost control and crashed into the passenger bus, which was traveling from Takoradi to Accra.

The impact of the collision left the minibus severely mangled, trapping the occupants inside. Mensah, along with others, assisted in rescuing the victims from the wreckage.

The injured individuals were promptly transported to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, with the case reported to the Gomoa Potsin police for further examination and legal procedures.
