Tarsame Singh Saini, also known as Taz Stereo Nation and previously Johnny Zee, was a British singer, composer and actor of Indian descent.

Taz Stereo was the lead singer of the pop band Stereo Nation which was formed in 1996 and is credited with being the pioneer of cross-cultural Asian fusion music.
Taz Stereo first hit the charts in 1989 with the album “Hit the Deck” which spent over 36 weeks on the UK Asian pop chart at number one.
To date, all but two of Taz Steros’s albums have received gold platinum and multi-platinum discs and his most successful album to date is Slave II Fusion, released in 2000, which includes many of his most well-known hit songs including:
- “Pyar Ho Gaya”,
- “Nachenge Saari Raat”, and
- “Gallan Gorian”
In 2008, Taz Stereo returned with his new album Jawani on the Rocks and hit singles from this album include “Meri Nazron Mein Tu Hain” and “Hai Hai Jawani”.
In 2010, Taz Stereo released his album, Twist & Shout, which was a success.

The 2020 single release, “Galan Goriyan”, with Dhvani Bhanushali, which is a remake of the 2000 hit song has amassed over 10 million views on YouTube.

What Was Taz Stereo Nation’s Health Condition?
Sadly, Taz Stereo died on April 29, 2022 aged 54 due to liver failure.
Prior to his death, Taz Stereo fell into a coma due to liver failure and he was fighting for his life in hospital.
At the time, Alveen Shapribhan (Hunterz) and his close friend Priyanka Timmins shared the news of his coma on their respective social media addresses.
Timmin’s post read:
“I want to ask all my friends to pray for my close friend and legendary artist Taz Singh #TazStereoNation, who is currently fighting a life support (ICU) coma. All your prayers are needed at this time.”
