Tatjana Patitz died on 11 January 2023, at the age of 56. Tatjana Patitz’s death in the Santa Barbara, California, area was confirmed by her Model CoOp agency’s New York agent, Corinne Nicolas. Nicolas stated that the cause was illness but provided no further information.

Tatjana Patitz rose to fame in the 1980s and 1990s by representing fashion designers on the runways and in magazines such as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, and Vogue.

She collaborated with some of the industry’s most prolific photographers, such as Peter Lindbergh, whose January 1990 British Vogue cover shoot of Patitz, Evangelista, Turlington, Crawford, and Naomi Campbell served as the “birth certificate” of the supermodel era.

Grace Coddington, the creative director of Vogue, described Patitz as one of the original supermodels and a must in photographs and on the catwalk in her 2012 memoir.
