Eshel was a former Israeli lawmaker, born in London, on July 24, 1920.
Eshel attended the Hebrew Reali School and later proceeded to the University of London to bag a degree in Oriental studies.
Eshel headed the Haganah immigration office in France in the 1940s.
She had worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as delegate to the United Nations.
Eshel was a member of Jerusalem City Council in the 1970s and was a deputy mayor to Teddy Kollek.
She headed the Na’amat women’s organization, until she was elected to the Knesset in 1977. She had remained in the seat for 8 years.
Eshel earned the title of Ambassador upon her retirement.
Eshel died on July 24, 2022, at age 102.
