According to reports from the Ghana News Agency (GNA), several traders in the CBD have voiced disappointment over the lackluster patronage of their goods and services as Christians prepare to observe Easter.
Madam Elizabeth Danso, who owns a gift shop, revealed to GNA that sales had not met expectations, particularly for this Easter season. She noted that while a few customers had placed orders for various gifts, overall turnout had been lower than anticipated.
Similarly, Mr. Kojo Thompson, a vegetable seller, echoed these sentiments, stating that despite arriving early at the market to arrange his produce, sales remained sluggish throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Madam Abigail Opare, proprietor of a boutique shop, shared a more optimistic outlook, describing business as relatively normal. However, she cautioned customers to remain vigilant, especially when making purchases online, to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.
As Easter approaches, families worldwide come together to commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, the subdued business activity in Takoradi’s CBD serves as a reminder of the economic challenges faced by traders amid ongoing uncertainties.
