In 1971, despite the fact that the New Zealand team had been away from home for nearly four months, she coached them to second place in the 1971 World Netball Championships in Jamaica.

She was the first Mori coach of the New Zealand netball team and is its most successful coach, with a 90% win rate.

Jamison has been involved with Netball Rotorua for nearly her entire adult life, serving as its president from 1981 to 2001.

In her honor, the Taini Jamison Trophy, contested between New Zealand and visiting international teams other than Australia, was named after her.
